MISSION7 Year End Update

Well, I hope that you had a very Merry Christmas despite the longevity of this global crisis, I know I did, although brief, it was excellent.

I want to thank you for your support of this ministry financially and spiritually, it really touches my heart when people sincerely believe in what we’re doing on the streets of Calgary to the extent of supporting us with their hard earn dollars regardless of these perilous times we’ve entered.  Here’s a highlight reel of the last half year…

Every summer we have our annual “Unity Revival BBQ”, I contact as many pastors, ministers, and Christians I know inviting them down to our God given corner downtown Calgary. We continue to do what we do every week serving the homeless demographic with food, drinks, clothes, bible, and hygiene products, but also with haircuts for this event and with various speakers and some children singing that blessed us all.

MISSION7 was invited to Edmonton to coordinate a church service in the park prior to a freedom rally that was being held immediately afterwards. What an opportunity to reach not just lovers of Christ but also dedicated freedom fighters and lovers of this country where their earthly convictions parallel our spiritual convictions in terms of freedom, this opportunity could not be passed. After having a worship service, a testimony, and preaching we set up a booth serving free food and drinks on this humid summer day, while selling merchandise.

Finally, we had our annual “Street Christmas” on December 18, and praise God it was a mild day for our big event. Similar to our Unity Revival BBQ, we invite as many and had up to 5 speakers preaching the gospel on this joyous season and we even had 3 children singing Christmas carols. We decorated our tables with garland and some of us wore red and white Santa hats to really drive the feel of Christmas to these people that often feel forgotten. Today was their day, we had ham steak sandwiches, played a game with prizes to be won, handed out chocolate bars, and gave them each a Christmas themed bag to fill up when arriving at our overflowing tables of goodies. There were many full stomachs and grateful hearts that day, we were also thankful for a smooth outreach with little to no problems.

We continue every Saturday on the corner on Stephen ave & 2nd street to preach the gospel to all classes of people, all races, for all lives matter to Jesus, providing the necessary needs for the body and soul. We pick up food donations twice a week, but our hygiene donations have ceased, so please pray for our stock to be replenished. Also, please keep praying for our safety as it can be a volatile environment that we’re serving in. Again, thank you for your generous donations may the Lord supply all your needs according to His riches, and when you give it will be given to you, pressed down, shaken together, running over, and poured into your lap, the amount you give will determine the amount you get back, but most importantly God loves a cheerful giver!

Have a happy New Year and we’ll report back to you soon again, may God bless you and your family.
